DR. SCOGGIN NAMED FAIRFIELD MEDICAL CENTER PHYSICIAN TEAMMATE OF THE YEAR

SCOGGIN PRESENTED THE 2015 GORDON B. SNIDER

PHYSICIAN TEAMMATE OF THE YEAR AWARD

Lancaster, May 18, 2015 – Each year Fairfield Medical Center chooses one of their physician teammates as the Gordon B. Snider Physician Teammate of the Year. This year, the award has been given to our own, Dr. David M. Scoggin, one of the founding physicians of Arbor View Family Medicine, Inc.

Nominated physicians are considered as:

  • A role model who demonstrates excellent communication skills with patients, families and staff.
  • A good steward of the hospital by always putting patients first and reflecting the Fairfield Medical Center values (empathy, integrity, stewardship, agility and teamwork), by treating patients and families with caring compassion, and working as a team with fellow staff members.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent patient outcomes and practices the National Patient Safety Goals.

Dr. Scoggin was chosen from a number of qualified nominees for this prestigious award. After receiving the award on Friday afternoon during a ceremony at the new Fairfield Medical Center Surgery Center, Dr. Scoggin said “I am extremely honored to be thought of so highly by my patients and teammates. I especially like that this award is for the “Teammate” of the Year. I believe that this is not only for me, but recognition for all of the dedicated team members that make Fairfield Medical Center the phenomenal medical center that it is. I have been blessed with wonderful patients and an amazing team. I could not have gotten here without either.”

The nomination credits Dr. Scoggin with serving on numerous committees throughout his tenure and being nominated five times for the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians, Family Physician of the Year Award. When Dr. Scoggin began his career he was leaning toward one in research, but he had a change of heart and decided he could have a bigger impact helping those in need by entering family medicine. Thousands of patients, physicians he has helped train, and the community at large, is very glad he did.
